Coronado Beach Day - Tuesday in San Diego

We looked at the weather forecast this morning. "It will be 65 and overcast the rest of the week!" We were more than a little saddened by the news. Where were the tanning rays we'd dreamed of?

We decided to take a chance and go to the beach and fight the bitter chill. When we got there the sun popped out!

We were lucky enough to catch some members of the Navy out for a morning jog! They were going so slow they weren't even working up a sweat. I think it was just a show for the ladies!

We got a lesson on sandcastle making from a guy named Mike. Unfortunately . . .

My sandcastle didn't turn out quite so pretty!

Dear Vanessa,

It is so wonderful that you and your family are in the San Diego area experiencing all the activities that this Southern California paradise has to offer.
Since you are in the area would you be kind enough to have the "kidders" look for the following birds:

Flammulated Owl, Otus flammeolus idahoensis;

Fulvous Whistling Duck, Dendrocygna bicolor; and finally,

Black-legged Kittiwake, Rissa tridactyla pollicaris

I have wanted to go to San Diego and see these exotic birds for myself but because of Livingstone's RLS (restless leg syndrome) we have had difficulty getting beyond the local confines of our neighborhood.

Seeing the shark reminded me of one of our only vacations early in our marriage when Livingstone wanted to go to Martha's Vineyard to do a bit of recreational activity in a small sailboat. We were about 200 yards offshore and he encouraged me to jump in the ocean and swim back to shore (He's such a sport). I'm a pretty good swimmer and accepted the challenge.

A year later, "Jaws" was filmed in the same area. From piranhas to sharks am I missing something in this relationship? Please advise.

Have lots of fun and enjoy the surf and turf.

Dear Mary,
I know we've already seen the whistling duck. Would you like us to try to catch one and bring it back to you in Utah?

I have come to the conclusion that you should leave Livingstone. I'm pretty sure he has a death wish for you! Have you gotten any mail about recent life insurance policies that have been taken out on you?
