For our 4th of July celebration, we went to Provo High School to hang out with friends and family and watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks without having to pay the entry fee, but we found out that . . .
Freedom Isn't Free! $45.00 for Fireworks, $10 Parking, $5 Glowsticks, $15 Snacks. Not Free but SO WORTH IT!!
The kids had a fantastic time eating treats and playing while we waited for the fireworks to start!
Ian was finally old enough this year to run the Family Fireworks Show! Every boys' dream -- play with fire and make lots of noise!!
The glowsticks were a hit!
The kids were all lined up for the Family Fireworks Show!
What a great show!!

Bridal Veil Falls & The Breakdown
We went to Bridal Veil Falls about a week ago. Ian brought along a friend. We were all excited to get some outdoor excercise. Little did we know, we were about to make a series of mistakes during our family bonding time that would make our time together a little longer and more painful than originally planned.
1st mistake -- We climbed up the rocks with no shoes on. We ended up in tears on the way down as the sharp rocks cut into our tootsies.
2nd mistake -- we decided to go on a 3 mile hike afterwards. The kids were overheated and starving by the time we got back to the car.
3rd mistake -- we stopped at Costco on the way home to pick up some tri tip. When we got back out to the hot car, what do you know, the car wouldn't start.
4th mistake -- Aaron and I had both left our cell phones at home -- no way to call for help.
5th mistake -- We own a car that takes a battery that Costco does not keep in stock.
6th mistake -- We went to Costco at closing time. They kicked us out.
Luckily, my mom ended up driving up from Spanish Fork to take Aaron to Wal Mart to pick up a new battery. The kids and I walked to the mall and spent another long hour together playing on dinosaur bones at the play area and munching on pretzel bites and french fries.
By the time we got home, the whole group decided we will wait at least a couple of years before returning to the Falls. It will take that long for our feet to heal and for our car to be ready for another breakdown that needs a new battery.
This picture shows how enthused the kids were to sit outside of the Closed Costco for over an hour!
